Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced R&amp;D Chemist to support the development, improvement, and scale-up of adhesive products. This role plays a hands-on part in formulation, testing, and technical support across multiple product lines. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable moving between lab work, documentation, and cross-functional problem-solving.
The scope of work includes solvent-based and water-based adhesives, hot melts, and rubber-based technologies applied through brush and spray methods across a variety of substrates.
Key Responsibilities
Formulation &amp; Development
<ul>
<li>Design, formulate, and document adhesive products from concept through scale-up</li>
<li>Lead development efforts for assigned product lines</li>
<li>Support batch scale-up and transition from lab to manufacturing</li>
</ul>
Product Support &amp; Optimization
<ul>
<li>Maintain and update existing formulations as needed</li>
<li>Address customer questions, technical issues, and product complaints</li>
<li>Support product certifications and documentation requirements</li>
</ul>
Testing &amp; Quality Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Apply appropriate performance testing, QC procedures, and application methods</li>
<li>Partner with Quality Control teams to ensure product consistency and compliance</li>
</ul>
Cross-Functional Collaboration
<ul>
<li>Work closely with project management to drive organized and efficient product development</li>
<li>Provide technical support to manufacturing when required</li>
<li>Present technical findings to internal business teams and collaborate with external suppliers</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a related field preferred</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with:</li>
<li>Adhesion and rubber-based chemistry</li>
<li>Solvent-based chemical systems</li>
<li>Adhesive formulation and development</li>
<li>Strong understanding of laboratory documentation and development processes</li>
<li>Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders</li>
</ul>
