Job DescriptionWe, at LPFP - Salisbury, a Leggett &amp; Platt company, are searching for a 2nd shift Round Mold Operator to join our production team in our Mold Department.&nbsp; We have been manufacturing carpet underlay for over 22 years and are considered a full-scale recycler. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives. As a 2nd shift Round Mold Operator, you will be responsible for operating the Mold system and applying all applicable standards to produce quality products. This job consists primarily of operating the Mold, which is a very critical aspect of our production process. In conjunction with the actual operating of the equipment, production standards must be used. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by enhancing the company’s proficiency to optimize its production system in order to meet its long-term objectives.&nbsp; So, what will you be doing as a 2nd shift Round Mold Operator?

<li>Perform (as needed) Blend/Mold tanks and Mold platens cleaning procedures </li>
<li>Know when dye needs to be changed </li>
<li>Refill binder tank when needed </li>
<li>Mark all logs with needed information </li>
<li>Perform color change </li>
<li>Adjust steam and binder time per formula </li>
<li>Understand foam formulas and what are allowable substitutions </li>
<li>Produce logs on a continual basis throughout shift </li>
<li>Adjust the log weight per formula</li>
<li>Equipment must be blown down continuously throughout the shift. </li>
<li>Forklift certified</li>
<li>Remove log from conveyor and store in designated area</li>
<li>Ensure proper material is used in correct order. </li>
<li>Must be able to understand and operate binder batching system.</li>
<li>Other aspects of this job include obeying/enforcing all company safety policies, such as wearing safety glasses, ANSI approved side shields for prescription glasses, hearing protection in required areas and no open toe/heel shoes along with all other company policies and procedures listed in the Leggett &amp; Platt Employee Handbook. </li>

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

<li>Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly manner by picking up, sweeping or other methods to clean up trash or scrap and place in designated containers for removal.</li>
<li>Observe and enforce all safety rules posted at workstations and those posted throughout the plant. </li>
<li>Complete all assigned tasks and work orders. </li>
<li>Follow all quality and safety requirements and procedures. </li>
<li>Adhere to the Leggett &amp; Platt Business Conduct Policy. </li>

Responsibilities include: reviewing plastic parts coming off a press, visual inspection of plastic parts, de-gating/trimming, and assembly tasks. This molding operator position is responsible for operating injection molding machinery and producing quality parts. The role includes operating machinery, inspecting parts for defects, and preparing parts by de-gating, trimming, and basic assembly. The operator must be able to detect defects and maintain a stationary position for up to two hours. Minimum qualifications include the ability to perceive fine details, follow instructions, and move and position items weighing up to 30 lbs.
