SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Chief Engineer to support our programs delivering Next-Generation Missile Warning software. This is a unique opportunity to join a small business delivering core capabilities for National defense. You will work within a fast-paced team delivering end-to-end software processing of Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) sensor data for Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Battlespace Awareness, and Technical Intelligence. Candidates will develop, implement, and run engineering processes in support of a large Agile software development program. Candidates will provide engineering leadership to development teams including subcontractors and will be responsible for ensuring team work products meet program requirements. SciTec seeks a candidate who will thrive in a collaborative environment where they can solve challenging engineering problems in support of critical national security objectives. 
Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Architect and design systems: Define the end-to-end data processing architecture, from raw data ingestion to product delivery, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.</li>
<li>Guide technical development: Lead the engineering teams developing algorithms for data processing, calibration, and analysis, including implementing AI/ML models.</li>
<li>Establish standards: Set technical standards and processes for data handling, quality, and integrity to ensure all system development complies with mission and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Technical oversight: Support engineering review boards and provide technical direction to ensure the integrity of deliverables and the overall system</li>
<li>Communicate with stakeholders: Act as the primary technical interface between the engineering team, program management, senior leadership, and external customers. Present complex technical concepts and project status clearly.</li>
<li> Manage risk identification, mitigation strategies, and technical problem resolution</li>
<li> Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering innovation and high-quality deliverables</li>
<li> Ensure all system components meet operational, reliability, security, and performance requirements</li>
<li> Serve as the principal technical liaison between the program and government program offices</li>

Requirements
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; Master’s or PhD preferred. </li>
<li>Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in aerospace, defense, or government contracting, specifically in OPIR systems</li>
<li> Proven track record of leading complex systems engineering projects and cross-functional teams</li>
<li> Secret Security clearance is mandatory</li>
<li> Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills</li>
</ul>
Candidates who have one or more of the following skills will be preferred

<li>Domain experience with remote sensor systems or ground architectures, especially experience with OPIR sensor processing.</li>
<li>Experience supporting systems engineering programs in the defense and aerospace fields</li>
<li>Experience with Agile software development methods.</li>

The pay range for this position is $148,000 - $172,000 / year. Job Description
This role consists of installing, troubleshooting, resolving and testing cooling units manufactured in parallel with customer installation in a state-of-the-art data center and ensuring all components function properly. This is an exciting new position that will be based in Woburn, Massachusetts with frequent customer-site travel. This position requires you to be on site at our customers’ facilities to complete the deployment and service of manufactured equipment.
Position Expectations:
<ul>
<li>Approximately 90% travel, often four to five nights away weekly, on a regular basis. This role covers North America with opportunities for international travel.</li>
<li>Perform startups, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs and/or preventive maintenance service on all products at customer sites.</li>
<li>Represent in a professional and courteous manner while following all and customer safety requirements.</li>
<li>Work closely with Project team to successfully complete the deployment of thermal cooling systems, which includes members from our customers and various construction trades to ensure installation timelines are met.</li>
</ul>
· Competent in replacing subassemblies and performing system-level tests as required.
<ul>
<li>Suggest and make recommendations for improvement to field service engineers, design engineers and management as needed.</li>
<li>Ability to perform product commissioning and hand-over to customers from start to finish.</li>
<li>Complete written repair reports to document the cause of failure(s), description of work performed, materials consumed, and condition of equipment.</li>
<li>Conduct customer training on cooling products when onsite.</li>
<li>Read, understand and use equipment diagrams, checklists, engineering drawings, and other process documentation to perform service tasks, assembly and repairs.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>5+ years of field service experience.</li>
<li>3+ years of working with project teams, contractors and interfacing with customers.</li>
<li>Strong mechanical aptitude &amp; understanding of electromechanical systems and Cooling Distribution Units (CDU)</li>
<li>Ability to read and interpret diagrams (dimensions, assembly, electrical, cooling)</li>
<li>Ability to regularly use a forklift, ladder, hand tools, power tools, calibrated measurement devices, and hydraulic equipment.</li>
