What we're looking for:
Education, Experience, and Training:
<ol>
<li>High school diploma or equivalent; two years of college courses in recreation or related field preferred; AND</li>
<li>Two (2) years of experience working in a recreation facility or relevant experience with at least one (1) year team lead experience; OR</li>
<li>Any satisfactory combination of education, experience and training.</li>
</ol>
License and Certifications:
<ol>
<li>Positions in this classification are required to have basic first aid and CPR training and certification.</li>
<li>Other specialty licenses and certifications may be required depending on facility and program assignment.</li>
</ol>
Working Conditions:
The following are working conditions, including environmental and physical demands, required for this classification.
<ul>
<li>Depending on facility, duties may be performed either indoors or outdoors, which may include working in extreme weather conditions.</li>
<li>Work schedule is varied and includes early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li>
<li>Physical exertion includes frequent walking, bending, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted, pushing, pulling and kneeling.</li>
<li>The flow of work and character of duties involve normal mental and visual attention much or all of the time.</li>
<li>Ability to work and maintain focus in a work environment with moderate noise (i.e., working around others making periodic phone calls or having conversations) and with frequent interruptions.</li>
<li>Work includes extensive exposure and contact with staff and public, which may cause exposure to illness.</li>
<li>Ability to maintain sustained concentration on computer screens and a variety of peripherals; manual dexterity and daily precise control of fingers and movements while operating keyboard, mobile devices, telephone and standard office equipment.</li>
</ul>
Supervision Received:
Reports directly to a Recreation Facility Supervisor. Follows standard processes and procedures without supervision but confirms changes to standard practices and significant decisions in advance. 
 
Supervision Exercised:
Provides ongoing leadership and direction to all staff working assigned shifts, which may include directing and assigning work, adjusting work schedules, training, coaching and providing recommendations on evaluating performance and developing goals.
