As a Resident Aide here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:
<ul>
<li>Care for the personal care and hygiene needs of patients in facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation centers and hospitals</li>
<li>Work with a team of physicians, RNs, LPNs, CNAs and aides to deliver excellent patient care</li>
<li>Help with daily needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, eating and nutritional intake</li>
<li>Assist with ambulation, transfers and range of motion exercises</li>
<li>Check vitals, measure intake/output, and document any changes</li>
<li>Observe patient and notify supervisor of issues requiring a change in care, medication or equipment</li>
</ul>
A few must-haves for Resident Aides:
<ul>
<li>High school diploma (or equivalent)</li>
<li>6 Months of previous adult caregiving OR completion of a CNA course (must provide professional references to verify experience OR certificate of completion of CNA class).</li>
<li>Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations</li>
<li>Compassionate nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li>
