As a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) you will assist providers and other members of the clinic health care team by performing a variety of back-office and patient-related tasks to ensure a smooth patient workflow within the department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
<ol>
<li>Reviews schedules, organizes patient flow, and escorts patients to exam room assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, preparing for exam; take and record height, weight, vitals, temperature, head circumference (when applicable).</li>
<li>Prepares for exam: collecting patient history; performing screenings per provider guidelines.</li>
<li>Fulfills clinical medical assisting responsibilities within scope of practice that may include medical/surgical asepsis, sterilization/disinfection, instrument wrapping and autoclaving; physical examination preparations; medication administration through various routes including injections; prescription verifications with physician’s orders; minor surgery assists including surgical tray set-up pre/post-surgical care, applying dressings, biohazard waste disposal and monitoring; therapeutic modalities; instructing patients with assistive devices, body mechanics, and home care; laboratory procedures including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines; quality control methods; CLIA-waived testing; and specimen handling.</li>
<li>Conducts and administers pregnancy tests, occult blood tests, hematocrits, blood draws, peak flows, glucose monitoring, PPDs, injections, immunizations, Snellen tests, EKGs, Ishihara’s color test, rapid strep tests, tympanograms, and dipstick urine samples.</li>
<li>Assists with suture removal, wound packing, simple dressings, nebulizer treatments and catheterization.</li>
<li>Assists provider with procedures including pelvic exams, pap smears, office surgeries and throat cultures.</li>
<li>Notifies patients of specialist appointment, make appropriate insurance referrals.</li>
<li>Notifies patients of test results per provider direction. Calls in prescription refills as requested by provider.</li>
<li>Performs clerical responsibilities that support the overall operations of the Clinic as assigned. Listens to patient questions and concerns and advises where permissible and/or obtains information from the provider. Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with Samaritan’s HIPAA Policy.</li>
<li>Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned that may include setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control; cleaning sterilizer according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms.</li>
<li>Utilizes necessary equipment with appropriate safety measures, with required training and check off prior to use. Reports problems or concerns with equipment to the Clinic Care Director or Supervisor.</li>
<li>Understands and demonstrates appropriate infection control practices in accordance with the Organization’s policy. Demonstrates ethical conduct and practices.</li>
<li>May be exposed to varying and unpredictable situations. Handles emergency or crisis situations to include performing emergency patient care. Responds appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and/or staff with immediate supervisor.</li>

Duties and Responsibilities
Medical Operations &amp; Clinical Duties 
● Work autonomously to provide a proactive approach of evidence based care through accurate assessment, diagnosis, management, treatment and counseling.
● Responsible for Restores weight management program which includes assessing, prescribing, counseling and creating customized programs for our clients.&nbsp;
●&nbsp;Review client's medical history to determine eligibility for Restore elective adjunct therapies
● Interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests&nbsp;
● Through a consultative and prescriptive approach, administer IV Drip Therapy and Intramuscular Injections to deliver our offerings of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
● Prescribe and Administer Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy sessions.
● Utilize blood test offerings to help clients optimize their wellness.
● Manage the medical supply inventory and ordering process.
● Promote memberships and medical services based on client needs.
● Document client visits via electronic medical records.
● Provide therapeutic communication along with exceptional customer service.
● Assist staff with store services.
● Participate in community outreach, off-site educational events and special projects.
● Maintain a safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules and regulations.
● Communicate safe practice and staffing ratio to management/ownership.
Minimum Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Master’s or Doctorate degree required.</li>
<li>Minimum of 2 years of full-time NP experience required.</li>
<li>Board Certification required.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills.</li>
<li>Strong IV Skills</li>
<li>Medical Aesthetics experience but not required</li>
<li>Must be licensed in SC.</li>
<li>Functional medicine or holistic background are both a big plus.</li>
<li>Professionalism and caring demeanor required - we are a multi professional team and often communicate with business owners, nurses and physicians.</li>
<li>Current credentials to practice in accordance with state and licensing regulations required.</li>
<li>Ability to navigate technology, laptop and have multiple windows open in an efficient manner.</li>
<li>Experience with EMR, Advanced MD a plus.</li>
<li>Some working knowledge of complementary and alternative therapies required.</li>
