The PhD Research Associate is responsible for developing impactful, sustainable research program in collaboration with core faculty, residents, and hospital network to advance knowledge and implementation of practices especially pertaining to acute emergent conditions particularly in vulnerable populations. The position applies expertise in implementation science, epidemiology, biostatistics, emergency and health policy, health education and related fields to generate evidence that informs clinical decisions in emergency medicine and improves health outcomes in emergency services. The IES Research Institute is an academic research division embedded within the Emergency Medicine Department at John Peter Smith (JPS) Health Network, a public safety-net health system with a 3-year emergency medicine residency program. The goal of the Institute is to develop and support scholarly activity, research, and grants to improve health outcomes and healthcare delivery for vulnerable emergency medicine populations through discovery and innovation. We use a team science approach and prioritize research that informs practice. We are a growing group supporting 15 core faculty members, a 3-year residency program with 45 residents, and fellowships in administration, academics, emergency ultrasonography, and street medicine, among others.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp; Includes the following. Others may be assigned&nbsp;

<li>Responsible for developing research projects in collaboration with faculty members as well as projects of interest aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Integrative Emergency Services.</li>
<li>Designs, leads, and manages independent and collaborative research projects that align with the mission of IES and the needs of emergency medicine populations.</li>
<li>Develops research in collaboration with core faculty and subject matter experts</li>
<li>Develops study design and identifies data sources to address research aims</li>
<li>Develops data collection mechanisms to address research aims</li>
<li>Analyzes data to generate novel results in collaboration with core faculty members, biostatisticians, and other content experts</li>
<li>Prepares abstracts, manuscripts, protocols, and funding proposals</li>
<li>Provides research opportunities to core faculty, residents, trainees, and students</li>
<li>Identifies and implements approaches to improve emergency healthcare services</li>
<li>Remains current with published literature, fosters innovation and participates in resident and faculty journal clubs</li>
<li>Mentors and supports faculty, residents, and students in research methodology, statistical analysis, and scholarly writing</li>
<li>Contributes to research education and training sessions</li>
<li>Leads or supports grant writing efforts, including federal, foundation, and institutional grant applications</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:

<li>Minimum three (3) years of applied research experience</li>
<li>Sound knowledge of procedures and regulations specific to the conduct of Emergency Medicine research and implementation programs; thorough knowledge of Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and FDA guidance</li>
</ul>
Preferred:
<ul>
<li>Postdoctoral training or research experience in clinical settings</li>
<li>Five (5) or more published manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals</li>
<li>Prior experience&nbsp;teaching or mentoring residents, fellows, or medical students in a clinical research environment</li>
<li>Experience&nbsp;securing external grant funding (e.g., NIH, AHRQ, foundations)</li>

SUMMARY: Maintain CIP and foam systems with appropriate chemicals; maintain chemical cage/tool inventory, operate Floor Scrubber/Forklift/Scissor Lift and ensure trash is placed in proper receptacles and locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action.

<li>Operate floor scrubber, forklift, company pick up and Genie lift as needed. </li>
<li>Complete paperwork, compile inventory information, complete weekly report of activities for supervisors. </li>
<li>Industrial and food safety, follow proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, HAZCOM, chemical safety, wear required personal protective equipment, report unsafe conditions/acts to a supervisor, follow all safety rules and regulations. </li>
