<li>Provide in-port operations and deployment towing of Saildrone vehicles</li>
<li>Manage safe fueling operations for Saildrones.</li>
<li>Use of the vessels tender to move Saildrones within the port, as needed.</li>
<li>Arrange docking or mooring of the vessel while in port.</li>

Secondary Role
<ul>
<li>Support Saildrone field technicians, as needed, for repair work conducted on the water or at a predetermined service location on land.</li>
<li>Emergency Management: Be prepared to respond to any emergencies at sea, including medical situations, weather hazards, or technical failures.</li>

Physical Requirements:
● Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to grasp, push and pull, bend, lift up to 75 lbs, and reach with your hands and arms. Must be able to perform work on a computer that requires ability to operate a keyboard and other peripheral devices.
● Must be able to confirm as “fit for work” by demonstrating ability to swim and tread water
● Must be able to stand navigational watch for up to 6 hours.
● Will be exposed to marine environments, including sun, wind, rain, cold, and saltwater spray, often for extended periods.
● Must be able to operate in daylight, low-light, and night conditions using marine navigation systems and visual cues.
● Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours/day.
 
 
Qualifications &amp; Skills:
● Extensive experience as a master of vessels in the 50’ to 100’ length range, offshore and ocean passage making, including advanced knowledge of navigation, weather forecasting, and seamanship
● USCG Masters License
● Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
● Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor under pressure
● Ability to travel internationally and obtain foreign visas, as required
● Valid First Aid and CPR certification
● Valid TWIC (or ability to obtain) and Passport
● Must be able to pass background check and USCG/DOT drug screen
● Must be US Citizen
● Spanish speaking a plus
 
 
Location: Rotation with alternating captain and crew - 60 days on, 60 days off. Round trip airfare from home airport to vessel.
All employees are required to provide proof of authorization to work in the U.S. within their first 3 days of work. Please note that the Company does not sponsor employees for work visas or permanent resident cards to work in the U.S. If you need sponsorship for a work visa or green card, you will not be qualified for employment with Saildrone.

The salary range for the role is $86,325-$112,275 annually.
 
Individual compensation packages are based on geographic location, scope of the role, and relevant experience, among other factors.

About this Role
This role requires strong swimming skills.
Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Specialist will provide administrative and program support to the Aquatics Department, in alignment with, and support of, the YMCA of Southern Maine’s priorities, protocols and values. This includes customer service, administrative duties, lifeguarding, swim instruction and more.
Your responsibilities will include:
<ul>
<li>Scheduling Support – Assist with aquatics staff, swim lesson and pool schedules.</li>
<li>Swim Lesson Administration – Assist with swim lesson registration, rosters, payments and general coordination of classes. Provides excellent member service.</li>
<li>Inclusion - Honor the YMCA of Southern Maine’s Promise Statement. Models a commitment to equity and inclusion. Creates a safe environment that helps all feel welcome and respected. Promotes feelings of mutual respect, acceptance, and appreciation. Supports people with unique experiences or points of view to share their perspectives.</li>
<li>Programming – Follows and supports all Association protocols and priorities and State guidelines, and in adherence with all Y Brand guidelines. Regularly supports programming by guarding, teaching swim lessons and water exercise classes, performing “off scan” duties, such as water chemistry tests and taking corrective action based on results, and other duties as needed. </li>
<li>Operations &amp; Safety – When guarding, maintains rescue readiness at all times and is singularly focused and never distracted by personal or secondary activities. Always positions to protect and aggressively scans entire area of responsibility. Is constantly vigilant to all patrons and to all activity on and below the water’s surface, on the pool bottom and on the pool deck. Consistently enforces non-swimmer protection and safety rules, including making sure children marked as non-swimmers are in shallow water and are protected. Takes immediate corrective action when swimmers break rules or engage in risky behavior. </li>
<li>Teaching – When teaching, provides safe, effective and creative instruction for individuals at all levels. Provides quality and timely guidance and support to all members through proper instruction in a group setting. Educates adult members on current relevant principles, practices and research, and healthy lifestyle information, as relevant to their child’s swim class, or child, as interested. </li>
<li>Leadership – Is a collaborative, engaged, and active participant in our Association, including communicating in an effective and timely manner and making sound decisions. </li>
<li>Relationship Building – Develop positive, authentic relationships within the Y that lead to greater awareness of the Y’s mission and impact, growth in number of people served, as well as revenue. Listens and expresses self effectively and with an understanding of the needs of a particular audience.</li>
<li>Mission Advancement - Is an advocate for the Y by promoting our cause. Supports philanthropy by increasing awareness about the annual campaign within the Y community. </li>
<li>Data Collection &amp; Tracking –Maintains accurate and consistent data tracking and documentation, as required.</li>

We’re looking for someone with:
<ul>
<li>1-3 years’ prior aquatics experience. Experience working with youth preferred.</li>
<li>Strong swimming skills.</li>
<li>Current certifications, or has the capability to obtain and maintain with YMCA support:
<ul>
<li>Lifeguard: YMCA On the Guard II and/or American Red Cross </li>
<li>Swim Lesson Instructor: YMCA V6, YMCA Swim Instructor or Water Safety Instructor preferred.</li>
<li>Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and Oxygen (02).</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Strong relationship-building skills and ability to welcome and include people from all dimensions of diversity. </li>
<li>Proven ability to take initiative and is self-motivated. Excellent decision-making, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.</li>
<li>Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases. </li>
