Job DescriptionTitle and Number of Position: Operator I, FP026Application Period:11/14/2025 – 11/21/2025Salary Range: Grade U4 / $24.77 - $31.44, starting salary: $24.77Division – Section – Unit: Operations – Fields Point WWTFShift and Days: 11 PM – 7 AM Days off: Rotating ScheduleLocation: ProvidenceRestrictions:NoPosition Covered by Bargaining Unit Agreement:Yes Name of Bargaining Unit:Laborers’ International Local 1033 DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Takes and records readings of plant equipment, including temperature, pressure, and vacuum.&nbsp; Operates a variety of pumps, valves, gates, and switches to operate the plant equipment.&nbsp; Responds to alarms or operational problems within plant property and at remote locations and takes corrective action based on defined procedures or supervisor direction.&nbsp; Cleans plant equipment and facilities and maintains a safe working environment.&nbsp; Frequently requires operation of a forklift, Bobcat, front end loader, sweeper, scum truck, and/or pick-up truck.&nbsp; Collects samples, performs standard tests, and records results; notifies supervisor if readings are abnormal.&nbsp; Assists other operators and plant staff with cleaning, maintaining, repairing, and installing plant equipment.&nbsp; Receives hazardous materials (chemical deliveries) and completes appropriate paperwork.&nbsp; Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.&nbsp;&nbsp; As required, to drive a facility vehicle on or off site.&nbsp; Medium Work: exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Within one year of employment, must possess an Operator-in-Training (OIT) Grade I certification license for wastewater treatment plant.
