The Residence Life Coordinator is a professional responsible for cultivating a Christ centered, community-focused residential experience for Highlands College students. This role provides direct oversight and strategic leadership of student development, spiritual formation, and community standards in the residence halls. The coordinator exercises independent judgment in crisis response, student accountability, and RA leadership development. Working collaboratively with the Residence Life and Housing Operations teams, the Coordinator also ensures effective operational systems are in place to support the student experience. As a pastoral presence on campus, this role is instrumental in shaping a high-expectation, high-support environment that aligns with the mission and values of Character Formation.
 
Because this position involves living among female students in a residential setting, and in alignment with Highlands Colleges sincerely held religious beliefs and gender-specific ministry practices, the College is seeking a female candidate for this role. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Student Experience &amp; Support

<li>Maintain high visibility and relational presence in the residence halls, providing mentorship and daily interaction with students.</li>

<li>Set expectations for RAs, deliver ongoing performance feedback, and conduct formal evaluations.</li>
<li>Track and mentor RA spiritual growth, leadership development, and overall performance.</li>
<li>Make recommendations and decisions regarding RA discipline, accountability measures, or dismissal.</li>
<li>Provide spiritual and pastoral guidance for RAs, serving as their first line of support and formation.</li>
<li>Manage a designated RA programming and training budget with discretion.</li>
<li>Guide RA-led initiatives and creativity (bulletin boards, door decs, events), ensuring alignment with college values.</li>

Res Life Programming

<li>Develop and oversee a residence hall programming calendar that aligns with student needs and Character Formation priorities.</li>

<li>Steward and manage programming budgets for events, traditions, and initiatives that promote community, health, and formation.</li>
<li>Support RA planning and execution of student engagement events, serving as both guide and collaborator.</li>

Culture &amp; Communications
<ul>
<li>Partner with Housing Operations to coordinate move-ins, move-outs, room checks, maintenance follow-ups, and student transitions.</li>
<li>Maintain and improve systems of documentation for RA scheduling, incident reporting, and accountability tracking.</li>
<li>Identify trends in student conduct, housing culture, or community needs; propose operational or cultural adjustments to Res Life Team.</li>
<li>Represent Residence Life at Orientation, Admissions events, and other collegewide gatherings.</li>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally on RA recruitment, student care coordination, and co-curricular planning.</li>

ABOUT THE TEAM ????
The Supported Living (SL) team provides support for a variety of men and women, within a time 24 hours a day time frame, seven days a week if needed. Supports range from health, safety, and community participation for those with more significant needs. The team also provide services for persons in his/her home to include health, safety, and community participation as well as assisting in coordinating the activities of the home by eliciting the preferences and needs of and providing support to persons.
The PRN DSP is responsible for the emergency coverage of the Supported Living Direct Support Professional shifts. The PRN DSP will work with people who are supported in person. The PRN DSP is a part-time employee who reports directly to the Support Coordinator. Required to work 2 shifts minimum per month.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL: ????
<ul>
<li>Provide emergency direct support coverage for DSPs</li>
<li>Aid the person you will support with personal care, medical, behavioral, or safety needs.</li>
<li>Provide personal care to include eating, using the bathroom, bathing/showering, transferring, shaving and personal hygiene issues.</li>
<li>Conduct quality service checks to include conditions of home, personal care, adequate household, and personal supplies</li>
<li>Proactively implement systems to ensure quality services for persons in designated areas such as health, safety, and community participation.</li>
<li>Track, book, and accompany persons to medical appointments, ensuring that required medical documentation is completed.</li>
<li>Research for community resources and other resources (i.e.: education, spiritual, leisure, transportation and medical).</li>
<li>Facilitate successful participation in events, including staff training, community education, technology, and resource development.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Team Coordinators and staff to ensure people's transportation, accommodations, etc. for the people you support.</li>
<li>Perform other duties as assigned</li>

ABOUT YOU ????
<ul>
<li>High School Diploma (AA preferred)</li>
<li>Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities</li>
<li>Must have knowledge and familiarity of the surrounding counties</li>
<li>Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to work</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills, good mentoring and coaching abilities and professional approach to personal development.</li>
<li>Must be willing to learn and use technology, such as cell phones, iPhone apps, photo, videos, laptops, adaptive technology, and case management database</li>
<li>Must possess an excellent performance ethic and be a strong team player</li>
<li>Must complete required training (e.g. CPR/first aid, safety protocols, CMT, MANDT)</li>
