The Plastics Press Operator is assigned to one or more injection molding machines and/or secondary operations used to produce injected molded plastic products and performs functions including pulling newly molded parts from the conveyer belt, trimming, sanding, marking, packing plastic components to meet customer standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul>
<li>Observes machine operation, work instructions, remove parts, and separates runner from product and load inserts as necessary for required jobs.</li>
<li>Sorts parts from family molds by different sizes, shapes, or dimensions, cavities, etc. </li>
<li>Performs secondary operations such as trimming gates and/or flash, assemblies, fixturing, sonic welding, pad printing, hot stamping, drilling, tapping, etc.</li>
<li>Observes thermometer and turns steam valve to maintain specified temperature in melting hopper.</li>
<li>Inspects parts visually for defects such as short shots, flash and contamination, and informs Shift Supervisor of any deviation from quality retains.</li>
<li>Gages or measures parts dimensionally and informs Shift Supervisor of any deviation from standards.</li>
<li>Separates nonconforming products and attaches identifying nonconforming reports with accurate information per operating procedures/work instructions.</li>
<li>Packs products into cartons for shipping and attaches proper identification with accurate information per operating procedures/work instructions.</li>
<li>Maintains production count records, and statistical process control charts per operating procedures.</li>
<li>Granulates runners and scrap, cleans work area, machines and equipment as required.</li>

Operate the Tetra Almix and batching systems in the processing area in a safe and sanitary manner following all GMP's. This includes recipe selection and target quantity for the batch. Monitoring and maintaining process controls of heat exchangers process variables and documenting accurate recordings of process parameters while in operation. The position will troubleshoot both digital and analog circuitry to the component level, determining the cause of any malfunction and recommending adjustments/repair to restore the product to working order.
Overtime: Ability to work overtime Monday through Friday and on weekends occasionally.
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Set up and operate various types of standard and specially designed test equipment.</li>
<li>Identify need for fixtures or equipment needed in support of unique or special testing requirements.</li>
<li>Calibrate, align, adjust, and perform final functional test for each unit for customer shipment. Working from specifications, test procedures, data sheets, engineering drawings, wiring diagrams/schematics, and/or verbal instruction.</li>
<li>Log production test data, including but not limited to, work order, model number, serial number, test status (pass/fail), and failure mode.</li>
<li>Diagnose and determine cause and remedy for defective assemblies, parts and/or components; identify, characterize, and document defects to ensure reproducibility of documented defect.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot to component level for both analog and digital circuitry.</li>
<li>Report increased trends in failures to appropriate parties, initiating root-cause investigations.</li>
<li>Perform physical inspection of product to ensure compliance to specification and cosmetic requirements.</li>
<li>Operate equipment and instruments safely and according to proper procedures; exercising the necessary precautions to prevent damage to test equipment and instrumentation.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Must require 3 year of related experience.</li>
<li>Experience in production test and troubleshooting environment.</li>
<li>Requires a solid background in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electromechanical equipment to the component level.</li>
<li>Experience working with standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, RMS meters, high power conversion equipment, etc.</li>
<li>Must be able to identify both surface mount and through-hole components, including component values/color-coding.</li>
<li>Requires use of mechanical hand tools on a regular basis.</li>
<li>Must perform moderately complex math and be able to read, understand, and adhere to technical documents and procedures.</li>
<li>Strong Analytical skills, ability to problem solve, attention to detail and technical acumen.</li>
<li>Available to work overtime.</li>
</ul>
Desired Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Electronic Technician Certificate and/or AS Degree in Electronic Engineering is preferred</li>
<li>Efficient MS Word and Excel User</li>
