Recertification Specialist/Section 8 Housing, L.I.C. NY
Property Management Company seeking full time Bilingual (English/Spanish) Recertification Clerk in queens for affordable residential units in New York.
The Recertification Specialist is responsible for, administering our affordable housing program which includes recertifying Section 8 tenants.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Process initial, annual and interim recertifications,
· Process retroactive rent-calculations while conforming to HUD regulations and NYCHA/HPD guidelines
· Letters to tenants requesting documentation
· Field visits to Manhattan, Bronx and Brooklyn Properties for signing of paperwork
· Tenant file review to ensure compliance with applicable government regulations
Job Requirements
· Bilingual (English/Spanish)
· High school degree
· Minimum of 5 years conducting Recertification in affordable housing
· Proficient computer skills in Windows, Microsoft office, outlook and excel.
Qualifications and skills
· Understanding of affordable housing and subsidy programs
· Team player yet also able to work independently
· Excellent verbal and writing skills
· Detail Oriented with strong organizational skills
· EIV experience
· Proficiency in One Site/Real Page Program a plus
· MOR experience a plus
· Notary a Plus
