Kids in Tech in Boston, MA is on a mission to help children from low-income households fill skill gaps and develop a love for learning! We're hiring a part-time STEM Tutor to join us and help children aged 8 to 14 improve their weak areas and gain a better understanding of their educational material. We're offering high school students pay starting at $19.00/hour, while college students can earn $20.00 - $25.74/hour. We also compensate for preparation time! Plus, you have the unique opportunity to make a positive, lasting change in the lives of young students!
ABOUT US
Since our first after-school tech club launched in 2016, Kids in Tech has empowered young learners from low-income households to engage in immersive, hands-on STEM education. Our interactive program provides children aged 8 - 14 the skills, education, and confidence they need to improve their technology savvy and thrive as future leaders.
ARE YOU THE STEM TUTOR WE NEED?

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
You work a minimum of one hour per week from September to June, plus additional time for required training and team meetings. Tutoring hours are 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.
As our part-time STEM Tutor, you help students brush up on areas they're struggling with, provide tips for success, and model the appropriate behaviors. You work with students one-on-one and in small groups, using our structured session model and approved tutoring materials to help children grasp new concepts and deepen their knowledge. Before the session, you prepare lessons and materials so that you're ready to get to work once the student is. You foster relationships with the children, build their confidence, and empower them to strengthen their weak academic areas.
Throughout the year, you engage in tutoring training, attend staff meetings, and maintain records of student progress. You participate in formal reviews and uphold confidentiality and respect while guiding your students. Every day is a new opportunity to transform lives!
