Job Description
Job Description Step into a day as our Heavy-Duty Diesel Systems Mechanic
Your shift kicks off with a diagnostics queue: a tractor with an electrical fault, a trailer due for DOT inspection, and a unit scheduled for preventive maintenance. You power up JPRO and OEM diagnostic software on a Windows laptop, verify readings with your multimeter, and isolate the issue. By midday, you're completing FMCSA-compliant inspections and performing PMs that keep our fleet reliable and safe. You finish with a tough repair—hands-on, precise, and physically demanding—because you can lift/pull 75+ lbs, work from prone or standing positions, and maneuver into tight spaces to reach critical components.
What you'll handle
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical systems on tractors and trailers using JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows-based tools
- Complete preventive maintenance services across our dedicated company fleet
- Perform DOT inspections in accordance with FMCSA guidelines
- Execute work that requires physical capability: lift/pull 75 lbs+, stand or lie down for extended periods, and reach equipment with full range of motion
What it takes to join
- Valid driver's license; Class B preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Technical or advanced degree, or equivalent hands-on maintenance experience
- Comfort using JPRO, OEM Diagnostic Software, Multimeters, and Windows for troubleshooting and repairs
- Proven problem-solving ability
- Team-first mindset with strong customer service, plus clear written and verbal communication
- On-site evaluation with recommended training provided
