Job Summary
As a Control Panel Field Service Technician, you will be pivotal in commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining control panels and associated systems at customer job sites. You’ll work on wiring, configuring, and ensuring optimal performance, contributing to project success and customer satisfaction.Key Responsibilities
- Execute tasks including wire terminations, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automation equipment
- Interpret schematics and diagrams accurately
- Carry out conduit work, wire pulling, cable sizing, and electrical testing, as needed
- Use diagnostic tools and computer-supported software for testing and configuration
- Support engineers during PLC system testing and commissioning
- Create service reports, calibration documentation, and track time and materials
- Travel to customer sites as needed to perform hands-on service
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and observe company safety standards and procedures
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in commissioning control systems, wiring control panels, and working with industrial components
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Skilled with hand and power tools, meters, and diagnostic instruments
- Basic knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, or similar automation components is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites; clean driving record
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to lift and maneuver equipment (up to 30 lbs) and work in varied environments
- Prepared for occasional overtime or extended onsite assignments
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance with policies
