Job DescriptionAbout the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Integration Developer to join the Client Integration Services team for a long-term contract supporting a critical Retail Choice system modernization project. This is a hybrid role based in New York City, and only candidates currently residing in the NYC metro area will be considered.
You’ll serve as a technical lead and liaison, supporting and enhancing IBM Sterling Integrator systems and file transmission services, while collaborating closely with internal teams and vendors. This role requires deep EDI knowledge, strong scripting skills, and the ability to manage complex integrations with precision.
Location: Hybrid - New York City Metro Area (Local candidates only)
Duration: 12+ Months
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for the EDI Support Team, ensuring smooth operations and communications
- Support the modernization of the Retail Choice system through testing, enhancements, and troubleshooting
- Design, implement, and maintain internal/external file transmissions using various secure protocols
- Configure and develop business processes in IBM Sterling Integrator including BPML
- Write and maintain scripts in Linux and SQL for reporting, automation, and system monitoring
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to communicate updates, risks, and resolutions
- Create documentation for troubleshooting, configuration, and SDLC artifacts
- Provide tier-3 support for file transmission and system issues
This is an hourly position with opportunity for overtime.

Mandatory Qualifications: (Please read carefully. They MUST be shown on your resume)
- 7-10 years of IT experience in enterprise environments
- Minimum years of hands-on experience with:
○ IBM Sterling Integrator (administration, BP development, installation)
○ File encryption using PGP
○ IBM MQ and SQL scripting
○ RedHat Linux and Windows systems
○ Transmission protocols: SFTP (SSH), FTPS (SSL), AS2, GISB, NAESB, NDM/Connect: Direct
○ EDI standards and formats (e.g., ANSI X12, EDIFACT) - Strong organizational, communication, and technical writing skills
- Ability to work independently and represent the team in high-level discussions
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with NAESB (GISB) and Retail Choice EDI standards
