About the Opportunity:

We’re representing a leading national design–build contractor seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to oversee regional Data Center design operations. This is a strategic leadership position focused on engineering design excellence, innovation, and team development within large-scale construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of engineering design operations across multiple high-value Data Center projects.
  • Drive the technical vision, design quality, and innovation for electrical and building systems.
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary design teams and ensure alignment with project goals and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute regional engineering strategies.
  • Manage staffing, budgets, and resource planning for the engineering group.
  • Guide the development of design documentation, sequence of operations, and system testing protocols.
  • Conduct design reviews, value engineering, and technical risk assessments.
  • Partner with preconstruction and business development teams to support proposals and client engagement.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for complex design challenges, technical troubleshooting, and project delivery oversight.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of relevant engineering experience with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • Proven expertise in building systems design, commissioning, and engineering management.
  • Strong background in electrical or MEP systems preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with design and modeling tools a plus.
