JOB OVERVIEW
The Inspection Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the assigned Inspection teams, performing preliminary, hidden-damage, in-process, and/or final Inspections. The Inspection Supervisor performs and oversees return to service functions on all civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the OEM for continued airworthiness, operator technical data, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable and/or approved by the FAA.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and prioritize inspections of the maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration of a powerplant, aircraft or appliance, or a part thereof, received at this repair station.
- Supervise inspections in accordance with the methods, standards, and limits required by the accepted or approved data to determine that the work was satisfactorily completed.
- Ensure work performed by outside sources and incorporated in articles undergoing maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alteration was properly performed and documented.
- Ensure all inspection paperwork is audited for completeness, task compliance, and delivered finalized documents to Records Department.
- Review teams’ competencies and oversee the training of new and current inspectors.
- Oversee the work performed by Inspectors who are unfamiliar with the methods, techniques, practices, and equipment used to perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis for nonconformances and audit corrective actions, including installed parts/material tags, tools and equipment used, proper signoff and references.
- Carry out performance evaluation of the assigned teams as per current HR guidelines and policies.
- Communicate efficiently with all employee levels.
Qualifications:
- Powerplant License under part 65
- 5-10 years of Experience as an Inspector in MRO.
- Understand, read, and speak English
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Preferred Experience/Qualifications:
- 3 years in a Leadership or Supervisory role.
- Understand, read, and speak Spanish.
Job Demands:
Work is performed in a Shop environment and requires the ability to perform extensive standing, driving, walking, and climbing; to lift up to 50lbs. regularly; to manipulate up to 100lbs. with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb to reach materials, and work in a noisy environment.
