We are seeking an Agronomic Support Specialist to provide technical agronomy expertise and software support to agricultural dealers. This role combines in-depth knowledge of crop production systems with the ability to support, test, and improve an internal trial design and analysis tool. You will be the bridge between field agronomy and digital agriculture technology, helping users solve problems and influencing future software enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
Provide agronomic guidance to dealers, answering questions on production systems and management practices.
Support and troubleshoot an internal agronomic software tool, addressing user issues and gathering feedback.
Propose feature improvements based on dealer interactions and field experience.
Execute and document test cases to ensure software meets acceptance criteria.
Utilize GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.) to interpret spatial data and trial results.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve user experience and tool functionality.
Travel to Johnston, IA for onboarding and occasionally to dealer locations (~5% travel).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Soil Science, or related agricultural field.
Strong understanding of crop production systems and agronomic best practices.
Experience with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar).
Previous experience in software support, troubleshooting, and user training.
Experience executing software test cases for quality assurance.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Located in Eastern or Central time zones (for remote candidates).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in precision agriculture or digital farming solutions.
Familiarity with field trial design and statistical analysis.
Knowledge of agricultural technology platforms and tools.
