Job Summary
DNS GP LLC is seeking a qualified Fire Alarm Technician for a temporary 1099 contract position based in Tracy, California. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and testing fire alarm systems and must hold valid certifications to perform fire/life safety work in the state of California.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, and maintain fire alarm and life safety systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair system wiring and devices.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 72, California Title 24, and local fire codes.
- Accurately complete inspection reports and service documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, and project leads.
- Maintain safe, clean, and professional work practices on every job
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Fire/Life Safety (FLS) Technician Certification issued by the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) / Division of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS).
- Active Electrician Trainee (ET) Card or C-10 Electrical Contractor License (if applicable).
- Knowledge of NFPA 72, Title 24, and related fire alarm codes.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with fire alarm installation, service, or inspection.
- Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Level I or higher certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Experience with leading system brands (Notifier, Simplex, Siemens, EST, Honeywell, etc.).
- OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Safety Training certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Compensation
- Pay Type: 1099 / W-9 Independent Contractor
- Pay Rate: Competitive and based on experience and certifications
- Schedule: Temporary project with full-time hours during contract
- Start Date: Immediate
