Helping to keep our jobs running smoothly, the ideal candidate will possess field engineering experience in heavy-civil construction projects in Vermont, or North East; earthwork, sewer, water, and drainage utilities, and road construction. Knowledge of and experience with Vermont construction methods is required. Duties include construction layout, materials management, quantity tracking, pay requisitions, scheduling... Boots on the ground, you're a part of the crew.
Additional duties include project scheduling and submittals, material purchases and deliveries, crew and equipment coordination, project execution, project billing, and project closeout. You would also work with customers/vendors/municipalities to schedule projects, provide quality control, and manage project logistics. Most of our work is local, but may include some larger projects in the Northern Vermont region, so some travel is likely. A college education in construction management or civil engineering is preferred, equivalent experience considered.
Applicants should be computer literate with knowledge of construction job costing and construction management software and methods. The ability to communicate effectively with owners, customers, vendors, other contractors, office staff, crew leaders, and general laborers is essential.
Responsibilities include:
-Familiarity with modern construction software & processes
-Job scheduling, tracking and budgeting
-Implementing digital terrain models for use with in-house layout and machine control
-Understanding civil construction materials, methods, and processes
-Manage field changes (change orders)
-Ability to read & implement plans, do project layout, and make necessary adjustments
-Ability to communicate effectively with customers, crew members, owner, office staff, and subcontractors
