As our next Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and automation scripts to ensure the quality and reliability of our golf simulator products. You will work closely with internal teams, including Development, Product Management, and Technical Support, to identify defects, validate functionality against requirements, and ensure seamless user experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to quality and process improvement, as well as a solid understanding of modern testing methodologies, software development lifecycles (SDLC), and manual testing tools.
This is an entry level position and fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate looking to launch their career in software quality assurance, especially if you bring a passion for golf, gaming, and technology!
Your responsibilities:
- Plan, write, and execute comprehensive manual test cases, test plans, and test reports for new features and maintenance releases across all platforms (web, desktop applications, mobile, and simulation/gaming software).
- Identify, accurately document, and meticulously track software bugs and issues using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira), ensuring clarity and reproducibility for the development team.
- Conduct diverse testing activities, including functional, regression, usability, and rigorous exploratory testing to identify critical issues early in the development lifecycle.
- Serve as a quality advocate, collaborating closely with Development, Product Management, and Design teams during all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from requirements review through release.
- Actively participate in QA reviews, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily standups to ensure testing efforts align with development priorities.
- Investigate and troubleshoot software and environmental issues in both development and production environments, often involving complex Windows and network configurations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Will consider soon-to-be graduates.
- Solid understanding of manual software QA practices, principles, and the overall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and general desktop environments for configuration and troubleshooting.
- Basic familiarity with network concepts (IP, DNS, client-server models) for basic troubleshooting of connected hardware.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially for providing clear, concise, and well-documented bug reports and testing feedback.
- High level of energy, motivation, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.
Preferred experience:
- Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).
- Interest in or prior experience with gaming (console, PC, or mobile) or simulation platforms.
- Knowledge of or passion for golf (as a player or fan) to enhance user empathy during testing.
- Familiarity with standard QA tools such as Jira, TestRail, Postman, or Git, and/or exposure to network debugging tools like Wireshark or Fiddler.
- Basic familiarity with API testing concepts or automated testing frameworks.
