Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A specialized opportunity is available for experienced educators skilled in supporting students with visual impairments. This contract role focuses on providing indirect and consultative services to a caseload of K-12 students in a fully remote setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Teacher for the Visually Impaired, managing a caseload of approximately 25 students.
  • Offer consultative support to teachers, paraprofessionals, and therapists by providing expert advice on visual supports and adaptations.
  • Collaborate with Teachers of Record and general education teachers to ensure appropriate strategies and accommodations are implemented.
  • Conduct student observations virtually to assess needs and progress.
  • Provide recommendations on materials, environmental setups, and curricular modifications tailored to individual visual needs.
  • Monitor student progress closely and contribute to IEP development, including attending IEP meetings when necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired with experience working across K-12 levels.
  • Strong understanding of visual impairments and the impact on learning and development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Skilled in virtual observation tools and remote collaboration.
  • Experience with IEP processes and individualized education planning.

  • Full-time or part-time hours to be determined based on caseload requirements
