We are seeking a Part-Time Datacenter Tech to become part of our team! You will be working day to day as well as set standards for operations
The Data Center Technician will physically support and provide remote hands for data center services to customers as well as facilitate customers space.

Good understanding of the OSI layer

Proficient with Microsoft Office or Google Docs (Word, Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.)
Strong attention to detail
High School diploma or equivalent required
Willing to travel within city or potentially out of town
Responsibilities
Problem Solving
Physical support and remote hands services for customers as well as facilitate needs
Structure cabling assessments and recommendations
Install and manage cabling infrastructure
Install, terminate, test, and label all connections (copper and fiber) in the data center according to standards
Dress and label all cables for easy identification and traceability
Support day-to-day operations of data center and execute various projects
Troubleshoot physical problems and address issues with customer
Install power strips/PDU's, rails, cable management, servers, switches, and other equipment
Visual inspection of equipment for errors or damages
Identify and report problems
Replace defective parts
Create and maintain daily documentation / inventory
Asset Management
Unpack/unbox devices, identify parts, and dispose of all unnecessary items
Power test all incoming products before moving to the data center floor
Provide paperwork to customers proactively
Note down all device locations and cable connections into a database
Record all products into a customer database (ie - asset tag, product, manufacturer, model, and serial number)
Inventory control
Compare products to packing slip and report discrepancies
Organize customer spare parts and keep them in an inventory
Maintain high level of customer satisfaction
Perform basic or pre-defined tasks per customers requests\
Report and maintain accurate records and documents to customers
Fulfill and report status via time reports and email processes
Escort vendors and technicians requested by customer
Support for crisis management in the event of critical situations or major outages
May perform other duties as assigned by customer on the fly
