Job Description

Looking for a first year or junior attorney that is interested in working all facets of civil cases and dealing directly with clients in a boutique plaintiff civil litigation firm. You must be plaintiff-minded and focus on results, not billable hours. You will be given immediate responsibility as the associate for a growing civil litigation docket. The managing attorney will teach you exactly what you need to do and best practices on how to do it.

The Firm primarily handles residential and commercial policyholders’ storm damage property insurance claim (first party insurance) litigation against insurance companies; including hurricane, hailstorms, freeze, and fire claims.

Here's what the ideal candidate brings:

The ideal applicant is highly organized, has superb attention to detail, is not only a great researcher and writer, but can also learn the practical side of practicing law: dealing with people: insurance adjusters / opposing counsel interactions, court staff / judge interactions, client interactions, file management, etc. Great candidate has prior insurance adjuster experience and / or prior military service. Sense of humor is a plus. Not necessarily looking for lot of attorney experience, just a good solid human foundation that can be taught how to handle the practical side of a plaintiffs’ law practice. Must be able to work independently with frequent guidance from managing attorney.

If you were in Law Review, graduated with honors, excelled in Mock Trial, and can write outstanding arguments and briefs, we want to talk to you.

Base salary plus fees. Full-time. Office is located in its own new Class A building on the Northwest side of Houston at 249 and 1960 close to Willowbrook Mall. Must live within 30-45 minutes of the office. Schedule is primarily Monday – Friday in office, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Please email cover letter, resume, and a writing sample that contains an analysis of a legal issue that you have authored.
