We are seeking a Field Service Technician for a long-term contract opportunity in the Buda, TX area. Seeking a technician with a high attention to detail and the ability to handle troubleshooting and problems with limited supervision. They will perform installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. This opportunity will include in-house as well as client facility repairs so traveling in the Austin area will be required with the main facility location being in the Buda, TX area.

Key Responsibilities:

· Introducing new electronic systems and equipment in the field

· Run software tests and upgrade software by loading software packages onto devices

· Troubleshoot devices, monitor power and network connectivity, and configure equipment

· Troubleshoot and repair electronic equipment and machinery

· Remove and replace faulty components and parts

· Configure communication equipment like Routers & Switches and other active equipment

· Conducting inspections and assessments

· Perform preventative and corrective maintenance

· Remotely monitor toll collection systems

· Open & close tickets within JIRA

· Document work, including writing short technical reports.

Qualifications:

· I must have at least 2-3 yrs of field/repair experience.

· Software and hardware knowledge

· Linux Knowledge: Connect to a machine using SSH, Able to navigate in folders using shell commands, being able to create some scripts, and ability to look at machine logs

· Ability to configure IPs Fixed/DHCP

· Knowledge of Network Layer 1,2 and 3

· Ability to read electric and infrastructure diagrams

· Experience with JIRA ticketing is a plus
