Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school psychologist position is available in the Portland, OR area serving K-12 students in a northeast region adjacent to the Columbia River. This opportunity is a contract role for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years with flexible, on-call, per diem hours.
This role primarily supports students in a Dual Language Immersion program and requires conducting up to five initial assessments throughout the school year. Each evaluation involves assessments, observations, report writing, and participation in related meetings. The schedule is determined on a case-by-case basis to acmodate the individual needs of each evaluation.
Key qualifications for this position include:
- Valid certification as a school psychologist
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish, both spoken and written
- Strong knowledge and practical application of Response to Intervention (RTI) principles in educational settings
- Experience conducting prehensive psychological evaluations for a diverse student population
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough initial psychological evaluations for students referred to the Dual Language Immersion program
- Collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to develop interventions and remendations that support student success
- Writing clear, detailed reports outlining assessment results and intervention strategies
- Participating in meetings related to student progress and eligibility for special programs
