Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Telecom/VOIP Technician to join our team in Kings Point, NY. This role involves supporting and maintaining telecom systems, including Cisco Call Manager, VOIP phones, and networking equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, adaptability to new technologies, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, troubleshoot, and administer VOIP phones, Cisco Call Manager, and Cisco Unity Voicemail.
- Support and manage physical telecom connections, including ISP demarcation points, fiber, POTS, and fax lines.
- Perform network cable pulls, install network drops, and troubleshoot basic network, wireless, and fiber connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with the network team to resolve network, wireless, and VOIP-related issues.
- Assist the Help Desk team in resolving trouble tickets with end-to-end solutions.
- Maintain and support tributary equipment.
- Install and support wireless access points (WAPs).
- Perform other duties as needed to support operations.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience with VOIP Call Manager.
- 1–3 years of experience with network and wireless equipment.
- Proficiency in network cable pulls, installing network drops, and fiber connectivity troubleshooting.
- Experience working with ISP services, including demarcation/fiber, POTS, and fax lines.
- Preferred certifications: CCNA or VOIP certification.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to develop and implement standardized processes and workflows.
- Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies and solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with co-workers, vendors, and stakeholders.
