Position Summary: Driver will be the primary tractor operator during hayride attraction. Assist Corn Maze Staff in providing logistical oversight of participants, maze attractions and facilities. Remain alert while operating the tractor, and maintain appropriate speed limit at all times to ensure safety of participants.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Assist Corn Maze managers in monitoring all maze attractions, restrooms, and all common areas for functionality and cleanliness.
2. Operate and drive tractor for hayride attraction.
3. Ensure machinery is securely stored when not in use.
4. Comply with all safety regulations in operating equipment.
5. Immediately report any problems, faults, or concerns with the machinery to Facilities Director or hiring manager.
6. Assist in general opening/set-up and closing/clean-up tasks.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the safety of all participants, employees and volunteers throughout the Corn Maze.
2. Ensure the provision of quality services to all guests through participation in the agency’s CQI process.
3. Display competence & responsiveness to cultural differences present in both customer & employee populations.
4. The ability to carry out duties unsupervised and during normal business hours as required.
Reporting Relationship:
Position reports to: Antoine Byndum, Advancement Data Services & Special Events Coordinator
Experience: Customer service and cash handling experience preferred. Experience driving a tractor is desired, not required (on-site training provided). Must be 18 years or older.
Skills/physical/working conditions: Must possess a valid driver's license, pass background check, and drug test. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk around indoors and outdoors for duration of shift, up to 12 hours. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Main Shifts:
Friday 3PM – 7PM; Saturday 10AM –7PM; Sunday 10PM - 6PM
Additional Shifts (for Field Trips and Corporate Nights)
Tuesday – Friday 9:30 am –1 pm; Tuesday – Thursday 3pm – 7pm (occasionally)
Requirements:
Experience: Customer service and cash handling experience preferred. Experience driving a tractor and/or operating manual vehicles is required. Must be 18 years or older.
Skills/physical/working conditions: Must possess a valid driver's license, pass background check, and drug test. Must be available to demonstrate machine handling efficiency. Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, and walk around indoors and outdoors for duration of shift, up to 12 hours. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. On-site training provided.
