Job Description
The Senior Client Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the Microsoft Windows client architecture. This role ensures endpoint device management aligns with industry best practices and provides advanced troubleshooting for complex OS, enterprise software, and configuration issues.
Daily Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Windows client architecture.
- Manage solutions for endpoint device management.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for OS, software, and configuration issues.
- Define technical standards and maintain end-user compute devices.
- Deploy applications, major upgrades, security updates, and patches.
- Assist in resolving escalated incidents and participate in problem management.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to implement new or updated technologies.
- Develop and manage a zero-touch desktop deployment system using Autopilot and Microsoft Endpoint Manager (MEM).
Key Projects
- Define and maintain technical standards for end-user devices.
- Execute timely deployments of applications and updates.
- Develop strategic goals for the Digital Workplace unit.
- Implement zero-touch deployment systems.
- Improve stability, security, and efficiency of compute resources.
Success Criteria / Desired Skills
Technical Skills
- Advanced Windows and macOS configuration and troubleshooting.
- Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager experience.
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint or similar antivirus tools.
- Active Directory and Group Policy (5+ years).
- Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016/2019 management.
- Microsoft Group Policy Objects and Preferences.
- Microsoft cloud licensing (M365 E3/E5, EMS, Intune, O365 E3).
- Application packaging and deployment via UEM tools (Intune, MECM).
- PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Custom reporting/dashboard creation (Power BI).
- Image management and OS deployment.
- Patch testing and distribution.
- ITIL foundations and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
Soft Skills
- Strong professional writing and documentation skills.
- Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in management-level presentations.
