We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to join our team and provide on-site scheduling support for a high-profile data center construction project near Columbus, Ohio. This role will support a major client through all project phases—preconstruction, construction, and closeout. The Project Scheduler will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and client representatives to deliver mission-critical projects on time and within budget.
- Provide leadership for scheduling efforts with design teams, contractors, and trade partners, representing the owner’s interests professionally and ethically, while fostering collaborative decision-making.
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed construction and commissioning schedules for data center projects using modern scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), ensuring alignment with project objectives and milestones.
- Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and trade partners to establish tasks, milestones, and deliverables, utilizing a standardized Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Analyze construction sequences and monthly schedule submissions, comparing them against field observations and actual progress to validate accuracy and identify potential risks or opportunities for optimization.
- Monitor and report key schedule performance indicators (KPIs) to provide insights into project health, forecasting, and potential delays, proposing recovery strategies as needed.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and client representatives to ensure schedule and phasing strategies support overall project goals and timelines.
- Conduct scheduling health assessments, risk analysis, and mitigation planning to ensure cost efficiency and timely project delivery.
- Provide regular, clear, and actionable schedule updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication of project status and risks.
- Deliver regular project status updates and comprehensive schedule updates, ensuring stakeholders are informed of schedule performance and potential risks in a clear, actionable format.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of scheduling experience, with at least 3 years in mission critical environment. Proven expertise in managing costs from preconstruction through closeout.
- Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar), Microsoft Excel, and project management tools. Familiarity with BIM and estimating tools is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in vendor procurement and contract negotiation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder collaboration.
- Experience with data center construction, including MEP systems, and a track record of delivering cost-effective outcomes in fast-paced, complex projects.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to other project sites as needed for future assignments.
