Job Title: Ford Service Technician
Job Summary:
The Ford Service Technician is responsible for accurately diagnosing, inspecting, and completing repairs and maintenance on customer vehicles. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service efficiently and effectively.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current technical data, diagnostic tools, and service procedures appropriate to certification and skill level.
- Use and maintain all required tools necessary to perform assigned repairs; ensure tools are cleaned and secured daily.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with shop and safety standards.
- Communicate promptly and thoroughly with the Service Advisor regarding vehicle status, completed Multi-Point Inspections (MPIs), and any additional issues or repairs identified.
- Adhere to Fix-It-Right-The-First-Time (FIRFT) practices to ensure quality repairs and compliance with warranty standards.
- Accurately document all job times, cause and correction statements, and complete MPI forms for each vehicle serviced.
- Perform test drives as needed to confirm customer complaints and verify the success of repairs, following all applicable traffic laws.
- Maintain all applicable Ford instructional requirements, in accordance with expected certification levels.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or FORD-sponsored apprenticeship training preferred.
