Job Description

JCIT - Job Posting
Who are we?
I am Jordan Chilensky and my company provides IT services primarily in the K-12 sector although we work
with a variety of clients. We pride ourselves on being polite, professional, and honest.

What is the job?
We are looking for a part-time technician to help with the day-to-day IT tasks at several small schools in
West Virginia. This is an entry-level job that does not require advanced skills. You will provide basic
troubleshooting for Chromebooks, iPads, Windows devices, printers, and various interactive flat panels
(Smart, Promethean, ViewSonic, etc). There will be regular interaction with students and teachers.

Who should apply for this job?
First and foremost, you must be a people person. You must be able to keep your cool under pressure and
be able to adapt to changing situations. The tasks of this job change from day to day and you will be at
different locations. You must be polite and friendly. You will be working with teachers and children of
different ages and it is imperative that they never feel like they are being talked down to or insulted.
As this is an entry-level job, you are not expected to be a master of any aspect of IT. We have
well-developed processes and routines which we will teach you. We will provide all the tools and
materials you will need. Prior experience in IT is not needed. For this job, a fast learner is better suited than
an experienced technician who is set in their ways. A friendly, outgoing person who has only basic
computer repair knowledge is better suited than a grumpy tech wizard.

You must have reliable transportation as you will be driving from site to site. We cover the Ohio Valley
from the Steubenville area to Wheeling, WV. Your position will be in Wheeling primarily, although there may be times when you work in other areas. You must be able to pass a detailed background check and
drug screening. You must provide two personal references and two professional references. Applicants
must not have any criminal history that would prevent them from working around children.

Our philosophy:
We are a forward-looking company and we are committed to leaving the world a better place than we
found it. This applies to how we deal with clients; we take care to make every interaction a positive one
and we go out of our way to listen and treat people with respect. This applies to our approach to the
planet itself; we try to be as environmentally conscious as possible by reusing, repurposing, or recycling
the technology and materials we work with. This also applies to who we hire. We believe diversity is
strength, that innovation comes from different perspectives, and that all voices have something to add to
the conversation. Women and BIPOC are underrepresented in this field and we sincerely encourage them
to apply.

Schedule and Compensation
This job will be for 8-10 hours a week, although that varies through the year according to the schedule of
the schools. We almost never work weekends or holidays and the hours are generally between 7am and
3pm. The time varies as some tasks cannot be completed during the school day. We will work with you to
find a schedule that is mutually acceptable. The starting rate is $20/hr.

If you are interested please email me a copy of your resume along with two personal and two professional
references at the address below. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope to hear from you!
