Hendricks Real Estate is looking for someone to join our growing team and take leadership over our accounting & bookkeeping functions. We manage single family rental properties for investors across Central Texas (Austin & San Antonio markets).
Experience with 3rd party property management bookkeeping is a must - triple tie reconciliations, owner ledger and accounting, tenant ledgers, and deposit dispositions, as well as typical AP/AR functions.
This is an office-based role (78745) and you will supervise one offshore employee that assists with AP entries.
## Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for property managrement trust accounts
- Enter all bills, ensuring complete and accurate descriptions are written for owner statements
- Perform monthly account reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger and assist with month-end closing procedures
- Assist property managers, tenants, and owners with accounting questions
- Complete security deposit dispositions for all departing tenants
- Prepare financial reports summarizing account information
- Assist with audits as needed
## Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience in property management bookkeeping using AppFolio, RentVine, Buildium, RentManager or another similar platform
- Proficiency in accounting principles and financial concepts
- Experience with accounting software and general ledger accounting
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Familiarity with account reconciliation processes
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
