Requirements:
- Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience
- 3 years customer service experience
- 3 years IT support desk experience
- 1 year Networking experience with Juniper & Cisco switches
As a Tier 3 IT Support Technician, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining technology infrastructure for our diverse range of clients. You will work with server hosts, virtual machines, Juniper & Cisco Switches, desktop/laptops, Chromebooks, cloud services like Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace, security software, finance software, databases, Linux servers and more.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of Windows Server Administration.
- Knowledge of Hyper-V.
- Understanding of Juniper & Cisco Switches
- Understanding of DNS, IP, and Networking.
- Understanding of Active Directory, Entra ID and M365
- Knowledge of PowerShell, MFA services, and RMM management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, including tact & diplomacy; ability to persuade and concede appropriately.
- Ability to learn new technologies very quickly; ability to act as "change agent" for driving process and continuous improvements within our organization.
- Ability to complete multiple tasks under pressure without direct supervision and deliver high quality results.
- Ability to manage remote and local customer setup and support.
- Ability to travel to remote customer sites on occasion.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Multi-Client Support:
- Serve as the main point of contact for Tier II issues serving multiple clients, including:
- Local government entities
- Municipal departments
- Providing proactive and responsive IT support.
- Combination of on-site & remote support with some local travel between La Grande & Baker City.
Infrastructure Management: Our clients' environment comprises physical servers, virtual machines, and various NAS devices, reflecting the diverse technology landscape you will work in.
- Provides desktop and helpdesk support of operating system, desktop hardware and peripherals, and core desktop applications.
- Assists System IT manager and IT department staff with department projects and network needs according to corporate objectives
- Google Suite
- Maintain and optimize server hosts (Dell PowerEdge)
- Virtual machines (Hyper-V, VMware)
- Cloud Services
- Backup processes
- NAS devices (Synology), primarily on behalf of our clients, to ensure smooth and reliable operations & reliable recovery.
Security:
- Implement and monitor security measures to safeguard client data and systems
- Switch configurations
- Antivirus software (Microsoft 365 Defender, Threatdown)
- Access controls.
Network administration:
- Knowledge and experience in best practices for Network Security, Security+ certification or equivalent experience preferred.
Backup Management:
- Maintain server & Infrastructure backups
Software Administration:
- Manage and support various software applications
- Including student information systems (PowerSchool)
- Finance software (SpringBrook)
- Cloud applications (e.g. Adobe, Zoom), and various databases, ensuring they are up to date and perform efficiently.
Troubleshooting:
- Provide tier II support through collaborating with Tier I support teams to
- Identify and resolve technical issues promptly
- Providing expert guidance when needed.
Process Improvement:
- Identify areas of inefficiency within client IT systems and processes
- Proactively recommend and implement improvements for increased autonomy and support.
Tier 3 Data Center:
- Provide remote-hands support of high-availability data center infrastructure.
On-Call Schedule Rotation:
- Participation in an on-call schedule rotation
- Ensuring 24/7 support for critical systems
- Responding to urgent technical issues outside of regular working hours.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires visual acuity and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment. The employee must be able to sit or stand at a desk for a full shift and lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
