Job Title: Paralegal (Full-Time)
Location:

  • Primary Duty Station: On-Site - Texarkana, AR 71854
  • Note: Work is full-time (40 hours/week), excluding federal holidays.

Pay:

  • Base Rate: $21.73/hour
  • Health & Welfare (H&W) Fringe:

Security Requirement:
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) security clearance. U.S. citizenship is mandatory to meet this requirement.

Position Overview:

The United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the Western District of Arkansas is seeking a full-time Paralegal to support legal staff in a federal litigation environment. The selected individual will assist attorneys and litigation teams with case preparation, discovery, document review, trial support, and related duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile, prepare, and summarize materials for discovery and litigation.
  • Summarize depositions and transcripts.
  • Maintain, organize, and update case files.
  • Conduct basic legal research and analysis.
  • Track and manage document discovery, including indexing and logging.
  • Prepare trial exhibits and assist attorneys in court.
  • Review documents for relevance and privilege under established criteria.
  • Support responses to FOIA requests, Congressional inquiries, and other information requests.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen (required for MRPT credentialing).
  • Education/Experience:
    • Paralegal Certificate or
    • At least three (3) years of experience in a legal environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with common legal software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and document management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ESI (Electronically Stored Information) tools.
  • Understanding of eDiscovery procedures and legal technology platforms.
