Overview:
OSAAVA Services is seeking a Software Engineer to support high-priority development, troubleshooting, and enhancement tasks within the BMC Remedy ITSM environment. This position will support efforts tied to a significant mission-critical initiative — compressing a considerable legacy project timeline to less than 24 months through smart software modifications and process automation.
The selected candidate will be a hands-on contributor to the Remedy upgrade preparation, ongoing technical fixes, and process streamlining efforts. Initially, this role will support the Tiger Team on a surge basis with intent to evolve into a permanent engineering position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues within the BMC Remedy environment
• Develop and implement modifications to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes
• Support the Remedy upgrade process through code preparation, testing, and validation
• Collaborate with internal teams (software, warehouse ops, and stakeholders) to understand requirements and deliver functionality
• Participate in daily Tiger Team stand-ups and contribute to fast-paced project delivery
• Shadow senior engineers and assist with documentation, fixes, and system enhancements
• Deliver clean, maintainable code and adhere to secure coding best practices
• Support major strategic initiatives aimed at drastically accelerating long-term deliverables through automation and platform enhancement
Basic Qualifications:
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
• 3+ years of software engineering experience, preferably with BMC Remedy or similar ITSM platforms
• Experience with Remedy workflow customization, troubleshooting, and module integration
• Strong understanding of databases (SQL), scripting languages, and Remedy architecture
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
• Willingness to support non-software projects during downtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• Experience supporting Remedy upgrades and migrations
• Prior work with Agile development teams or rapid delivery environments
• Familiarity with DoD IT systems, documentation, and security protocols
Benefits:
• Competitive salary: $110,000 – $135,000 DOE
• Full medical, dental, and vision benefits
• 401(k) with company match
• Paid Time Off (PTO), holidays, and parental leave
• Career growth potential within OSAAVA’s software engineering division
