Job Description
Position Summary: The ideal candidate will be a qualified architect who is able to construct clear documents using Revit. This candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of all steps related to project completion and be able to communicate with necessary people to ensure timely execution. This candidate should also be able to conduct quality assurance checks on a frequent basis in order to ensure compliance with design and construction documents.
This person will need to effectively organize, communicate, delegate, and follow through on all tasks involved in completing a comprehensive set of building design documents. The Project Architect needs to work hand-in-hand with Project Managers, field Superintendents, Subcontractors and Clients to facilitate a complete turnkey building project on time and on budget.

An important factor in the success of the Project Architect is the understanding that flexibility in helping others is essential for the overall benefit of the company.
Primary Functions:
- Complete the initial zoning/code check
- Attend meetings with Owners/Clients as necessary
- Complete preliminary design sketches for preparation of budget numbers
- Complete the construction document set
- Set the schedule of drawings and associated hours for preliminary sketches
- Initiate the internal drawing review check with architectural department
- Secure consultant quotes (civil, soil borings, landscape, structural and interiors)
- Review the municipal requirement for zoning approval
- Attend all municipal meetings
- Review project documents with a Project Manager for turnover to field Superintendent
- Review project documents with a field Superintendent
- Review and approve all shop drawings
- Set up and initiate site visits with Superintendent and Owner
- Maintain field report documents
- Answer all questions that relate to drawing or design issues
- Communicate with Superintendents, Project Managers and Owners to resolve issues as they occur
- Maintain change of scope documents
- Set up punchlist and complete with Owner and Superintendent
Position Qualifications: Below is a list of the minimum knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to execute the key responsibilities of the Project Architect:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
- 3+ years of experience in design-build construction and or architectural field
- Strong organizational, creative and presentation skills
- Proficient in Revit
- Must be well versed in international series codes, Planning and Zoning Ordinances, and the submittal process for construction documents for approval
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel) in order to track projects accordingly
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to meet deadlines both collaboratively and independently
- An individual who contributes beyond themselves and is motivated by their team’s success
- Leadership skills which will motivate the team and impact the future success of the Architectural Department
