Job Title: Test Technician

Client: Heavy Machine Manufacturing Company
Location: Fargo, ND 58102
Duration: 1 Year (Possible Extension)
Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (Must be able to train on 1st shift)

Position Overview

The Test Technician will perform hands-on testing of electronic assemblies and components to support product engineering and validation. This role involves setting up test equipment, performing diagnostics, maintaining lab tools, and documenting results to ensure production readiness and compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct manual and instrumented testing of electronic products and assemblies.
• Set up, calibrate, and operate lab equipment based on engineering specifications.
• Maintain and troubleshoot lab instruments and test setups.
• Record and analyze test data, identifying patterns and potential product issues.
• Support engineers in test planning, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain accurate test documentation and product records.
• Work independently while ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with PCs, Excel, and documentation tools.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documents.
• Troubleshooting expertise to identify root causes in electronic or mechanical systems.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education & Experience

• Education: Associate Degree in Electronics, 2-Year Technical Diploma, or equivalent military/hands-on experience.
• Experience:
• Minimum 1 year in electronics, mechanical, or product testing.
• Preferred 3+ years in testing, validation, or electronic systems.

Preferred / Standout Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with test instruments — multimeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers, and lab tools.
• Experience in one or more areas:
• Electronics or Electrical Work
• Automotive (On-Road/Off-Road) Repair
• Robotics, Automation, or Mechatronics
• Communication/Networking Hardware
• Farming or Agricultural Equipment
