BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Technician for an opportunity in York, NE 68467
Position Title: Maintenance Technician Facilities
Location: York, NE 68467
Duration: 2+ Months of contract - Possibility to extend
Pay Rate: $23.00 on W2 (with $1 shift differential, if applicable)
Weekly Schedule: Sunday–Saturday
Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM with 2-on / 3-off / 3-on / 2-off rotation
What You’ll Do:
- Support plant operations.
- Deliver maintenance support for capital projects.
- Maintain the condition of the plant shop and maintenance tools.
- Support Process Safety Management and location safety efforts.
- Conduct seasonal prep work, including annual preventative maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
- Assure proper set-up, calibration, operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment, machines, and facilities.
- Complete grounds and facility maintenance as needed.
- Utilize predictive maintenance tools to detect and prevent future machine failures.
- Create, continually update, and train on preventative maintenance plans for various equipment.
- Complete fabrication projects to improve plant processes.
- Maintain detailed equipment records and prints.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Skills You Need:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability and willingness to work on elevated surfaces above 25 feet (with fall protection equipment).
- Beginner-level skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Comfortable working in varying conditions such as cold warehouses or around greasy machine parts.
- Strong teamwork mindset; able and willing to lift up to 60 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime and shift schedules, including weekends, as needed.
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Knowledge of production agriculture and associated machinery.
- Basic knowledge of building electrical systems.
- Welding and/or millwright skills, especially relevant in the seed industry.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic repair and test equipment.
- Basic understanding of process control.
- Two or more years of industrial electromechanical education and/or experience in technical, electrical, or mechanical fields.
- Experience using a CMMS or similar system (e.g., SAP) for work orders and parts inventory.
Qualifications / Basic Job Requirements:
- Pass a background check and other pre-employment screenings.
- Have reliable transportation to the site and the ability to arrive as instructed.
- Maintain enthusiasm, a good attitude, honesty, and treat all individuals with respect.
- Ability to work long hours and rotational shifts, including overtime as needed.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds; work indoors and outdoors; and walk on uneven surfaces.
