LHH is seeking a Supervising Attorney to join its legal services team. This full-time role focuses on immigration law, particularly for minors released from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) system. The position includes direct representation as well as supervision and training of junior legal team attorneys and support staff. This is an ideal role for an experienced immigration attorney passionate about working in a holistic, youth-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal representation for youth (ages 12–21) in immigration matters, including:

SIJS (Special Immigrant Juvenile Status)
-
Asylum
-
U Visas and T Visas
-
Proceedings in family and immigration courts
-

Supervise junior attorneys, paralegals, fellows, social workers, and administrative staff:
-
Review legal documents, observe client meetings and court appearances, and provide mentorship

Oversee client intakes, case management, and internal training on compliance and procedures

Collaborate across programs to facilitate referrals to education, healthcare, and other support services

Lead legal education efforts such as workshops, outreach initiatives, and community engagement

Document and report services in compliance with grant and program requirements

Represent the organization at court, external stakeholder meetings, and advocacy coalitions
Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate and active admission to the New York State Bar (or willingness to be licensed in NYS within 6 months of hire)

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in immigration law, particularly in SIJS, asylum, U/T visas, or removal defense

Supervisory experience preferred

Strong commitment to a holistic, client-centered approach to legal advocacy

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team

Professional proficiency in Spanish or French required, however, Intermediate proficiency in Spanish or French is acceptable, if required

Familiarity with youth development principles and cross-sector service delivery a plus
Benefits
This posting is a representative sample of the types of roles we typically place with our clients. Depending on the specific client, location, and role, the salary range is estimated to be $82,000.00 to $95,000.00 and benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
Pay Details: $82,000.00 to $95,000.00 per year
