Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team and ensure the efficient operation of our processing facility. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment used in the processing of pistachios. Your expertise will contribute directly to our ability to meet production goals and maintain product quality.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on processing equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct inspections to identify and preemptively address potential issues.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with production operators to understand equipment needs and prioritize repairs.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational training or certification in mechanical or electrical fields.
- Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
- Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
