Assistant Activities Coordinator

We focus on each individual's unique needs and deliver the highest quality services possible by ensuring that each individual receives the right support, at the right time and frequency by a caring qualified staff member in the most independent setting appropriate.
What we need:
The Assistant Activities Coordinator will provide assistance to the Activities Coordinator in the development and implementation of a variety of activities associated with the Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) population.
What You'll Do:
- Assist with research, planning, and implementing ideas for programs and activities for the I/DD population based on individual preferences.
- Involve I/DD individuals with one-on-one or group instruction of activities at their level of comprehension.
- Interact with each individual with respect and dignity.
- Assist with agency and program functions.
- Transport individuals participating in off-site programs and events as needed on a daily bases, utilizing a minivan and a 12-passenger van.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with a special needs population is preferred.
- Experience with all aspects of creative content, arts and crafts, and directing activities for special needs populations is preferred.
- Valid Driver's License
- Good driving record
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
Rate: $16.00 per hour
Location: Monroe, NC 28110 and surrounding areas
