Position Overview
As a Level 2 Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, resolving escalated technical issues, and contributing to the design and implementation of network and system solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of both system administration and networking principles, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities
System Administration
• Provide Level 2 support for Windows and Linux-based systems, including servers, desktops, and virtual machines.
• Manage and maintain advanced Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.
• Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patch management.
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Maintain and improve backup and disaster recovery strategies.
• Assist with server provisioning, imaging, and deployment.
Networking
• Monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points. *Experience with Fortinet required.
• Configure and maintain VPNs, VLANs, and network segmentation.
• Collaborate with the network engineering team on infrastructure upgrades and security enhancements.
• Analyze network traffic and logs to identify and resolve performance or security issues.
• Maintain documentation of network topology, configurations, and procedures.
Security & Compliance
• Enforce security best practices across systems and networks.
• Assist with vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts.
• Support compliance initiatives (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001) as needed.
Collaboration & Support
• Act as an escalation point for Level 1 support technicians.
• Work closely with software, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams to support cross-functional initiatives.
• Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications
• 3–5 years of experience in a system administration or network support role.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL), and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Proficiency in networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, NAT, and VPNs.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade switches, routers, and firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
• Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).
• Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Knowledge of ITIL framework and experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ConnectWise).
