Summary
Isle of Hope Baptist Child Development Center is currently looking to fill an immediate opening in our Elementary program, as an After School teacher for the coming 2025-2026 school year. At IOH Baptist CDC, we take pride in caring for children in a safe and loving Christian atmosphere. The After School teacher supports the Director and Assistant Director by helping to create a safe environment for our children, while assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. Applicant must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team-oriented environment. They must be able to efficiently implement a quality educational program and develop positive relationships with the children and their parents. The After School teacher will observe and document children’s activities and progress throughout each day, and relay that information back to parents and staff. The After School teacher is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children’s interests and needs under the direction of the Director and/or Assistant Director. Duties
As the After School teacher, applicant would be required to meet State Standards Rules Regulations. Applicant must love and care for the children while maintaining a safe, stimulating environment. Applicant must be able to lift children, achieve child's eye level, supervise outdoor activities in the sun, heat, and cold multiple times a day per State Standards, interact with children on the floor and in chairs of various heights, communicate clearly with children, parents and staff; yelling will not be permitted, and use Procare. Applicant must clean their classroom daily, to include disinfecting, sweeping, mopping, and trash removal. Applicant is expected to work well with our team of teachers and assistants and maintain a professional attitude while at work.
Applicant must be able to drive a 15-passenger van to pick students up from 2 schools. Upon return to our facility, the applicant will serve snack, plan activities, and take the children outside until parents arrive.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. *Applicant can work longer hours in our Childcare Center if desired (Up to 40 hours per week). Can be discussed further upon interview.
Ages: Pre-K through completion of 5th grade.
Requirements
After School teacher must have one of the following: A Child Development Associate credential (CDA), a Technical Certificate of Credit in Early Childhood (TCC), or an Associate's Degree or Higher in Early Childhood Education, experience working with children. CPR and First Aid training and 10-hour Health Safety within 90 days of hire. Applicant must be willing to follow our mission statement and lead by example. Applicant must be able to work Monday through Friday. Applicant must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Applicant must dress professionally at all times. Cell phones or ear pods are not acceptable unless required for reporting. Applicant must pass a background check.
Our center is NOT a babysitting service, but a teaching facility.
