Summary

Performs complex equipment maintenance and repair operations involved in the installation, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a wide variety of equipment and machinery to ensure smooth and efficient production. This role requires specialized expertise in PLC programming, robotics systems, and automation technologie to support NIC Global’s advanced manufacturing operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

  • Perform preventative and emergency maintenance on industrial machinery, robotics, and automated systems.

  • Diagnose malfunctions using technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC ladder logic, and robotics diagnostic tools.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize PLC-controlled equipment, robotic arms, conveyors, and automated assembly systems.

  • Service and clean compressors, hydraulics, plumbing fixtures, motors, relays, contacts, electrical/electronic panels, and control systems.

  • Replace and calibrate sensors, actuators, control modules, and robotic components.

  • Perform carpentry and related work involved in maintaining buildings and production facilities.

  • Disassemble machinery, select appropriate repair procedures, and repair/replace worn or defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and machine tools.

  • Record and validate entries into the preventative maintenance data collection and inspection system.

  • Assist with general facilities maintenance, including plant and office re-layouts.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement automation upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and wear protective clothing/equipment as required.

  • May provide guidance to lower-level maintenance workers, though no direct supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or automation preferred.

  • 5–7 years of experience in industrial maintenance with demonstrated expertise in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and robotics systems (Fanuc, ABB, or equivalent).

  • Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting automation systems, robotics integration, and control networks.

  • Solid math skills and understanding of engineering principles.

  • Ability to work quickly, independently, and under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Awareness of health and safety legislation and commitment to safe work practices.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs with or without accommodations.

  • Ability to work indoors in a factory or outdoors in variable elements.
