Summary:
The Web and Systems Administrator is responsible for the journey-level work of developing and maintaining the CLA Website. This position designs, creates and places content materials on the Website, designs administrative systems to publish on the internet, keeps information of the Website current and provides technical assistance to CLA employees concerning the Internet and Website usage. The WA also creates and sends e-communications for CLA, all sixteen of its sections and CYLA.
Skills and Requirements:
- Assist with development of technical methodologies for solving web-based development problems and provide website project planning and Website design assistance, including day-to-day tasks on the CLA's content management system
- Match organizational objectives for website usage with the optimal technical tools to achieve satisfactory results on such subjects as web-related security, graphics, authorship, management/administration and search capability
- Develop and maintain databases required for CLAs website
- Develop and maintain procedures and programs for the delivery and production of web content, version control for content files, interface and navigation and testing of new tools
- Interface with staff on the specifics of projects, events, new technologies and deadlines on web administration and gather information from design and technical staff on website development needs
- Plan and manage web-related projects
- Take appropriate action to ensure that developments in technology and software are captured, including Hyper Text Mark-up Language (HTML), graphics for the Internet, and conversion techniques for computer documents and e-mail attachments into web documents
- Coordinate with internal staff, member volunteers, and external consultants pertaining to the website content
- Perform system administration tasks across multiple cloud-based systems, i.e. user accounts, configurations/settings.
- Perform ERP/CRM technical support for staff, system configurations, and data reporting
- Perform several other similar or related duties which may not be specifically included within this position description, but which are consistent with the general level of the job and the responsibilities described
- Carry out principles of all inter-networking technology including, but not limited to, communication, project management, functions and resources
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, or equivalent academic achievement
- Minimum four (4) years experience in computer-related field, including minimum one (1) year of direct web/internet experience (CMS and/or coding)
- Accomplished computer keyboarding skills
- Principles of web architecture and development tools, testing and implementation of scripts and programs for the production and delivery of web content
- Problem identification, analysis and evaluation
- Computer information systems, including personal computer applications, spreadsheet programs and word processing
- Principles of effective writing, grammar, and verbal presentation in English
- Working knowledge of the State Bar CLA offices and their functions (may be accomplished within first 90 days of employment)
- Assemble data and prepare required reports
- Experience with computer graphics and multimedia design

- Working knowledge of web accessibility standards, i.e. Section 508, WCAG 2.0, etc.
- Working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
Essential Functions:
