Job Description

The Maintenance Technician role prioritizes safety, quality, and both predictive and preventive maintenance tasks related to the building, infrastructure, equipment, and utilities. Maintaining an organized and clean work area is crucial, along with following procedures to perform specific duties. Attention to detail, observational skills, and communication are essential as you will collaborate with the team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks focusing on safety and quality.
  • Conduct predictive and preventive maintenance on building, infrastructure, equipment, and utilities.
  • Operate and maintain equipment with attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Troubleshoot, install, and repair mechanical systems, including ammonia refrigeration.
  • Utilize forklift and other equipment as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to procedures and policies while completing tasks.
  • Communicate effectively both in writing and orally.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical and maintenance repair experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of pneumatics, air tools, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read, understand, and write procedures in English.
  • Detail-oriented with critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Effective coordination and active learning abilities.
  • Systems analysis and evaluation experience.
  • Time management skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures.
  • Bilingual capabilities are preferred but not required.
  • Experience with database navigation.
  • Forklift operation skills.

Work Environment

The work environment regularly exposes employees to moving mechanical parts, wet and humid conditions, and ammonia used for refrigeration. There may be exposure to chemicals for sanitation, extreme cold and heat, and occasional weather-related elements. Employees may also encounter toxic fumes, chemicals, airborne particles, and electrical lines with a risk of electrical shock. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, frequent standing, walking, stooping, crawling, kneeling, climbing, and balancing. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waycross, Georgia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
