Job Description
Carborundum Grinding Wheel Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician, to lead, oversee, and execute critical maintenance functions across our manufacturing facility. This role combines hands-on technical work with leadership in developing a preventive maintenance program. Success in this role means minimizing unplanned downtime, improving equipment reliability, and collaborating effectively across departments to support production goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program for core production equipment
- Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causes
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory in coordination with purchasing
- Mentor team members and coordinate with production leadership
- Ensure all work meets company safety and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred
- Proactive, dependable, and able to work independently
- Strong communication and organizational skills
