Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Healthcare Security Officer in Grand Junction, CO, who is seeking a PART-TIME position in a fast-paced hospital environment, providing critical safety, support, and protection to patients, staff, and visitors.

Position Overview:Citadel Security is hiring Healthcare Security Officers who will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive environment within a hospital setting. Officers in this position are responsible for conducting proactive patrols, monitoring facility activity, responding to incidents, and assisting hospital staff with safety concerns or high-risk situations.
This role requires strong situational awareness, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Healthcare Security Officers serve as a reliable point of contact for patients, families, and clinical teams, ensuring safety while supporting the hospital’s mission of care and compassion.
Open & Closing Dates: 11/18/2025 to 01/18/2026Essential Functions
- Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols of hospital grounds, patient care areas, and restricted locations.
- Provide a visible security presence to deter disruptive behavior and reinforce safety expectations.
- Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and safety concerns.
- Assist clinical staff with high-risk patients, visitor management, and protective holds (if permitted by hospital policy).
- Monitor access points and ensure compliance with hospital identification, visitor, and access protocols.
- Document all incidents, interventions, and safety activities accurately and in real time.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, nursing staff, law enforcement, and emergency responders.
- Support emergency preparedness drills and safety procedures.
- Utilize radios, hospital communication systems, and reporting tools effectively.
- Maintain situational awareness and act with professionalism, compassion, and discretion at all times.
Qualifications
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States; references and I-9 documentation required.
- Previous security, military, law enforcement, or healthcare-based security experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to remain calm, composed, and decisive during medical emergencies or high-stress situations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to support patients and families respectfully.
- CPR, First Aid, or other emergency response certifications highly valued (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods in a busy hospital environment.
- Proficiency with basic technology, including mobile apps, radios, and incident reporting tools.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and any hospital-specific credentialing.
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned hospital facilities.
- Must own a smartphone for scheduling and communication purposes.
- Must meet all Citadel grooming and appearance standards; uniform provided.
